Privacy
A short notice about your data.
The Edge of England collects as little personal information as possible. If you join the mailing list, your email address is used to send project updates and nothing else.
Who is responsible
The Edge of England is an independent project by Robin K Hickson. For data-protection questions, contact rkhickson@gmail.com.
What is collected
When you join From the edge, the mailing-list form collects the email address you provide and a record of your subscription. The form also uses reCAPTCHA to reduce automated spam submissions.
Why it is used
Your email address is used only to send occasional updates from The Edge of England: new walks, stories, recordings, field notes and major project news. The basis for sending these emails is your consent when you opt in.
MailerLite
The mailing list is managed using MailerLite. Your email address and subscription information are therefore processed by MailerLite on behalf of The Edge of England for the purpose of maintaining the list and delivering emails.
Sharing and selling
Your mailing-list information is not sold. It is not shared with other organisations for their own marketing. It is disclosed only to service providers where necessary to operate the mailing list and website.
How long it is kept
Your subscription information is kept while you remain subscribed, and for as long afterwards as reasonably necessary to maintain an unsubscribe record and meet legal or administrative requirements.
Your choices and rights
Every mailing includes an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw consent at any time. You may also ask to see, correct or delete personal information held about you, or raise a concern about how it is being used.
In the UK, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your personal information has been handled improperly.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated if the way The Edge of England handles personal information changes. The current version will always appear on this page.
